2012 : North Korea’s two-year ban from international competition ends. North Korea was banned from Oct 5th 2010 till Oct 5th 2012 after it was discovered Hong Su Jong had competed at the Athens Olympics while being underage since she was born in 1989 and therefore was only 15 at the time of the Olympics. The minimum age to compete at the Olympics is 16.

2013 : McKayla Maroney peforms the last vaults of her career at the World Championships where she won the gold medal. She officially announced her retirement in early 2016.

2013 : Sandra Izbasa peforms the last routine of her career at the World Floor Final in Antwerp. Sadly she fell in her very last tumbling pass and placed 7th.
